Robotic cockroach faster than the real thing: VelociRoACH

Roboticists at the University of California have developed a small six-legged robot -- called the Velociroach -- that is faster than a real cockroach, reaching speeds of 2.7 metres per second (around 9.72 kilometres per hour). Real cockroaches generally move at up to 1.5 metres per second.
